When a brand name becomes a verb, it tells you something. If I say I’m an image editor, people sometimes hesitate. But when I say I Photoshop, they immediately understand.
I started out with Barco Creator, but the foundation remains the same: masking, adjusting light and color, retouching, building compositions, and occasionally illustrating. About 85 percent of the tools I use today have been with me for thirty years. They’ve improved, some are automated, but it still comes down to seeing what needs to change, and what should stay untouched.
Photoshop is still the core of my work, even as generative AI begins to shift the landscape. These tools offer potential, but only if you know how to use them well. It’s not about using everything—it’s about knowing when and why to use what. And that’s where experience still makes the difference.
